Client: Action for Alliance (IFRC)

Project: Annual reports

Aim: Secure funding for the IFRC’s work globally, on a country by country basis

Deliverables: Individual country reports 20-25 pages each

Having worked with the IFRC for three consecutive years now, we feel like we work together really well. I collaborate with a small team of expert copywriters to group deliver this, quite frankly, enormous piece of work each winter, through the project management eyes of Andy at Action for Alliance.

The IFRC is the global office overseeing and supporting the work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent charities in every region of the world. By compiling each country’s plan for the following year, we help to secure funding for the corresponding country, each totalling tens of millions of dollars and reaching increasing populations in need of humanitarian support.

This work is vitally important to supporting some of the world’s most acute humanitarian needs. We cover everything from conflict, forced migration, natural disasters, disease and the horrific impacts of climate change on some of the poorest communities, but increasingly, on new societal groups not previously affected too.

The reports show a changing world, with increasing demands for humanitarian support everywhere. Climate change is only speeding up the need for support, with some areas experiencing triple onset disasters.

Without these reports, the details people’s needs would be difficult to demonstrate. The funding they secure transforms lives where it’s desperately needed.

The IFRC is the charity that started my focus in this industry, and I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of its work.
